Cancer Rehabilitation

Undergoing treatment for cancer may introduce many challenges and lifestyle changes for patients. Our patients are cancer survivors who range from recently diagnosed to as many as 20 years after treatment.

Oncology-trained physical therapists seek to reduce unwanted side effects of cancer and its treatment and help with pre-rehabilitative measures to prepare patients for treatment. Commonly treated symptoms include:

  • Balance disorders and falls
  • Cancer-related pain, weakness, and fatigue
  • Exercise prescription
  • Gait dysfunction
  • Incontinence
  • Lymphedema
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Pre-rehabilitation
  • Prospective surveillance
