Supportive Care

A cancer diagnosis changes a lot, but it shouldn't change everything. The Supportive Care Program at the Stephenson Cancer Center can help you manage symptoms of cancer treatment and encourage healthy living. The Supportive Care Program delivers expert symptom management, health promotion, and prevention intervention for the person diagnosed with cancer. The program accepts patients of all diagnoses and stages.

Commonly treated symptoms include:

  • Coping with diagnosis
  • Lack of energy
  • Difficulty falling / staying asleep
  • Pain
  • Changes in appetite / weight
  • Trouble breathing
  • Cognitive problems (attention, memory, or thinking problems)
  • Anxiety / Depression
  • Pain, numbness, or tingling in the feet
  • Nausea
  • Constipation / Diarrhea
  • Gait disturbance (changes in the way you walk)
  • Lymphedema (swelling in feet or hands)
  • Balance issues
