Cancer diagnosis and treatment can lead to a great deal of stress for patients and their caregivers. Oncology Social Workers are available for patients through confidential consultations at the Stephenson Cancer Center.

They assist our patients in meeting a variety of needs whether it be financial, transportation or lodging, familial matters, disabilities, or other unexpected issues that can arise during treatment.

Oncology Social Workers can help with many things, including:

Support groups for patients and caregivers
Coping with stress and anxiety
Transportation and lodging assistance
Advance Directives
Questions about insurance
Financial assistance
Sexual Health and Fertility

Supportive Care

The mission of the Supportive Care Program at the Stephenson Cancer Center is to restore and maintain the quality of life for people living with cancer and their families through the interdisciplinary delivery of expert symptom management, palliative care, health promotion and prevention interventions for the person diagnosed with cancer.
