The Stephenson Cancer Center will hold a Gynecologic Cancers Survivor’s Workshop on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 8 am to 4 pm in Oklahoma City.

The all-day workshop is designed to provide patients, survivors, and caregivers with the basics of gynecologic cancers as well as in-depth information on targeted therapies and treatments. Additional topics include: genetic and tumor testing, vaccinations and preventions, and supportive care topics including lymphedema, sexual health, and physical therapy.

Faculty Member Receives High Honors from American College of Radiology

Salahuddin Ahmad, PhD recently received the degree of Fellow of the American College of Radiology, one of the highest honors that the College confers upon its members. He currently oversees the physics and technical aspects of the proton and photon therapy programs at the Stephenson Cancer Center.

Recognition as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology demonstrates a history of service to the College and the profession of radiology as a whole. The designation is only achieved by ten percent of their members.

Stephenson Cancer Center Director Elected Chair of National Cancer Clinical Trials Organization

Stephenson Cancer Center Director Robert S. Mannel, MD has been elected to serve as one of three Co-Chairs for NRG Oncology, one of four national non-profit organizations that make up the adult National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) for the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The NCTN, the world’s premier network for developing and conducting clinical trials to advance new cancer therapies, is composed of over 2,000 institutions nationwide. NRG Oncology is the largest group within the Network, placing more cancer patients on NCI clinical trials than any other organization.
