Seven undergraduate students have been selected to a competitive summer program working in cancer research laboratories at the Stephenson Cancer Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. The Cancer Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) Program provides students experience working on nationally funded research projects under the mentorship of senior investigators. Students gain valuable hands-on knowledge of research methodology and the latest approaches in cancer medicine.

The Stephenson Cancer Center is partnering with the City of Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma City Zoo to make Oklahoma City a Sun Smart City (#SunSmartOKC). To kick-off the project, the Stephenson has donated 20 free-to-the-public sunscreen dispensers that were recently installed at Oklahoma City parks, golf courses, trails, and the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Interested Oklahomans are invited to apply for the Board of Advocates at the Stephenson Cancer Center. The board is a group of 60 community leaders from across the state of Oklahoma who are interested in cancer education, outreach, and advocacy.

National, state and local leaders joined the Stephenson Cancer Center at the University of Oklahoma today to celebrate the center’s designation as a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Center. With this award, the Stephenson Cancer Center joins an elite group of 70 NCI-Designated Cancer Centers nationwide.
