Researchers from around the nation will meet at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in early December to discuss the ways nanotechnology can be used to detect, diagnose and treat cancer. Stephenson Cancer Center and the OU Health Sciences Center are hosts for the 2018 END2Cancer – Emerging Nanotechnology and Drug Delivery Applications for Cancer – conference. It will be held Dec. 5-7 at the Samis Education Center on the Oklahoma City campus.

Researchers from the Stephenson Cancer Center at OU Medicine presented five abstracts at The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer’s 33rd Annual Meeting. The mission of the Society is to improve cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science, development, and application of cancer immunology and immunotherapy. The annual meeting was held Nov. 7-11 in Washington, DC.

Juan C. Claros, M.D., a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, has established his medical practice with the Stephenson Cancer Center at OU Medicine. He is also an assistant professor of surgery with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. As a surgical oncologist specialized in breast cancer, Claros treats all types and stages of breast cancer.
