Dr. Krempl grew up in New York State; he received his medical degree from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine in 1992. He completed an internship in general surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by residency training in otolaryngology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He returned to Oklahoma City for a fellowship in head and neck oncologic surgery at the OU Health Sciences Center.
Following this he was appointed to the faculty of the College of Medicine in 1999 and has served in a variety of important roles in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology including Director of Clinical Research for the Department, Medical Director for the OU Physicians Department of ORL and Residency Program Director, with his clinical focus on head and neck cancer. His journal publications concentrate on head and neck cancer and on parathyroid disease. Since January 2009 he has served as interim chairman of the department and appointed Chairman in July 2010.
