Monday, April 16 is National Healthcare Planning Day. Healthcare planning focuses on equipping patients and familieswith the resources to discuss and confirm the future healthcare wishes of the patient. Advance directives allow patients to share their healthcare wishes with their loved ones, preparing families for what to doin the event that the patient cannot communicate these desires someday.
Our Supportive Care team, including our palliative care providers and social workers, are always available to meet with our patients about advance directives and healthcare planning. Please reach out to them to make a referral or request a consultation.
On Monday, April 16, from 10 am to 2 pm, the Supportive Care team will have a table in the Stephenson Cancer Center living room on Floor 1 with information on healthcare planning. They will also be available to answer any questions that staff or patients may have about this topic.
For additional questions or information, please call the Supportive Care Clinic at (405) 271-4385.
